OT - Tents collapse at AZ auctions

Not yet, but can't be good. There are metal tent poles inside that had to have gone down on at least some of the cars.

The party that owns the tents will be making a call to their insurance company real soon . . . AND looking at rate increase at next renewal!

Not good, I hope no people were hurt. :nonod:

One of our local club members was working the auction last night when the tent came down. He saw the tent lifting up and started to run. While running he looked back to see the tent 50 feet in the air and come down on top of him. He had to crawl out thru the mud and water. He said the tent was very heavy on top of him. He got out ok and started to put up tops on the cars that were now uncovered and out in the rain.

Very strong winds when the front came thru. I guess at my house 80mph. Tons of trees damaged or uprooted. I may have to cut down one of the trees in my front yard because it started come out of the ground.

Ugly. I was at B-J a few years back soon after a big rain... the parking area was like an old fashioned Midwest Mud Bog event, but with BMWs and well-heeled car fans instead of 4x4s.

It only rain there typically at one time of the year why on earth don't they schedule it for another time of the year?

Yikes - I bet that was a touch scary!

Hope the tree doesn't cause you too many problems.

Update on the tree. It has to come down before it hits the house. It's a big shame because my garage buddy Mallard would use it for his shade tree when he was not showing me how to do something.
