Patrick - There is a DC3 at Planes of Fame that is outside, I'll grab some more pictures next time I am out there.

Had a friend who flew C47 in WWII: Alternate lead dropping 82nd Airborne into France, 6/05/44.

Man, talk about courage.

Yeah, and a German night fighter flew right over the top of their formation. They had hooded formation lights on so that they did'nt run over one another. Dale said it was a real hold your breath moment. If the fighter had looked back.....

The next day they noticed a P61 Black Widow sitting on their flight line. At the briefing, P61 crew was introduced and told the story of how they had picked up the fighter (on radar) and was following him. After they cleared the C47's, German was jumped and dumped, so no harm, no foul.

Those P-61 guys were "unsung" too. Talk about havin' a "set"! Geez.
