NO! :wink: Chopping and channeling is for abandoned shells found out in fields. This looks way too nice to do anything but preserve and/or restore as needed. (Disclaimer: I've always had a real soft spot for Buicks; my grandfather was a country doctor, and that's all he ever drove.)
 
I would kill (well, almost) for the chance (and funds ...) to get that back to "as new" condition.

Gotta love suicide doors and anything that wears them!!

Resto/Mod, but with modern V-8 and electrical system as in 12V. Keep body stock but with great dark blue or black paint.

Gorgeous! A friend of mine collects Buicks, and has a black '39 coupe. Drop dead beautiful. I'd love a pre-war car, something with a straight 8, and yes, suicide doors.

A Buick like that needs to keep its straight 8, if possible.

And to keep this more on topic, aren't our Triumphs like pre-war cars in many ways?

Mine is definitely pre war. Owned it for 34 years.

I started the engine project two months ago and the war began then.

Yes they are. I was in a 36 Buick with a straight 8 last weekend. Their are a lot of similarities (large steering wheels, simple controls, basic interior trim).

However TRs are interesting because they are antique and modern at the same time - disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, independant suspension, and fuel injection (european models).

And don't forget lever shocks!

A lot of those modern features seem tacked on. What other cars have the rear axles running ABOVE the frame rails? But I don't really disagree with you.

My Dad had a '37 Buick.After looking at it,it kind
of grew on me.It had the original leather key fob with
it.The new owner planned on restoring it.

Then good money hiring to the film industry.

Er, providing the trim is OK!.

Sometimes the charm is in the patina.
