The Alfa arrived today (well, into the shop in LA anyway), and turns out she is a super solid San Diego car and still wearing her original paint. Cool. Won't know on mechanicals until next week, but at this point it's all upside given the condition of the body. Yippie...

Wow, looks like a really nice original, what are the plans, go throuhg her and make sure everythung works and drive and anjoy? or resoration? or??

So, Tom, you have the Brits covered w/ the TRs, the MG, and the Capri, Sweden w/ the Volvo, and now the Eye-talians w/ the Alfa. What, no Germans or French?

Seriously, what a nice looking car! Reminds me of my high school buddy and I cruising in his Fiat 124 coupe, especially the interior. Drive it in good health!

I recognize those cars......what did the TC/D and B end up selling for?

Pickup a December copy of Hemmings Sports and Exotic Cars. The new issue features the 100 years of Alfa Romeo. Great 20 page story and pictures.

The Alfa looks lovely. My wife used to have a 61 Giulietta Spider and I wish we would have kept it(would've, should've).......beautiful car.

I'm quite envious, Tom.

A couple of my pals did a Cannonball in a Berlina. Had it not been for some State Troopers they'd have been right up at the top.

Pix of the engine?

Hey Skip,

Nice find. Have fun with her.

Cheers,
Tush

Hi there - as of now the plan is to get her mechanically sorted, pump cavity wax into her everywhere I can, and then enjoy her. We'll see if I can resist doing anything beyond that.

Well the Capri was made in Germany, does that count? LOL.

You going to the French/British event next weekend Kevin?

That's pretty much what I said when I bought Mickey's TR8.

Don't ask me "how's that workin' out for you so far?" Better yet, don't ask my wife.

Not sure on the TC/D, but the MGB went for around $2,500. Turns out someone from the MGC forum bought her, and I outbid him on the Berlina. Small world. He'll take good care of her. She's supposed to be very solid as well.

Unaware of it, is it at Woodley Park? Saturday or Sunday? Thanks for letting me know....

BTW, your PM bin is full.

Kevin, all the telling him about the box being full hasn't helped any. Been barking at him for months

Normally I'd give you grief about another car, but this time it's all thumbs up. That's a seriously neat car. Drive it in good health.

Very cool. Looking forward to seeing more pictures and posts as you dig into her. I don't know much about Alfas - which engine does this have? 2.0L?
