By using the full editor and clicking the "Quote" button at the bottom of a post instead of reply. See how your text is quoted and it tells my its from you.

I'm a dummy - I don't understand...when I go into your post & click on the 'quote' function & try to add a message under it, my computer goes into a 'message being submitted' mode but does nothing & I have to get off the BCF & come back on.

What did I do wrong?

If you use the quote tag by itself it looks like this:

If you add "=tony balony" after "quote" within the brackets, it looks like this:

Using the quote button automatically fills in the name of the person who wrote the post you clicked the quote button in.

Now, how do I select one sentence in an entire post to do the same thing with in the full editor mode?

You can just delete the person's text manually until only what you wanted to quote is left. If I have to cut out the middle of a sentence I usually put a bunch of dots so people know there was more to the statement than what I'm quoting.

Example:

.....now know how to do that using the 'quote' tag.....

And then I use another quote tag manually to add this:
