MGB Original MGB Owner - How Much should he ask ?

I think you're correct at 85-cents, Rick...just did some research & 1980 was a high point for Canadian money against the dollar....think it was the last high point before the recent one.

Still, if he bought as an investment, he didn't so so well....he'll get his original 1980 money out of it but no interest!

Yes, you have to think of it both ways.
In 1980 the Ca dollar was worth .85 US
The US Dollar was at the same time worth 1.15 Ca.

That's the way I understand it, Rick.

Excuse me, but didn't it really matter what the relationship was between the Canadian Dollar and the British pound was? Anyhow, that was then, which has NO bearing on the value now. But certainly the fact that he is the original owner will ad value to some people.

After our fun little interlude, we get back to what's germain...yep, original owner will help...sitting for so many years will hurt (and actually negates the fact it took a 2nd at Stowe's years earlier). And its not an LE, its just a plain vanilla MGB - without factory overdrive or factory hardtop! Low malies can go either way: it can be a benefit or a detractor...if a person wants to drive it, its a detractor as it means everything will have to be gone through to ensure its still safe to drive.....if a person just wants to show it, its a benefit.

Comes down to what a person is looking for when they buy.
