I'm in need of a good condition original style BE door latch for the drivers side. Need the type without the knob but with the longer arm. Any spares?

Just a thought, having just been through this. Don't give up on a worn out early one. You can take the best (newer knob type) you can find and drill out the rivet, swap the arms, and put it back together. Now you get to deal with how to duplicate the 'glitter' impregnated protective goop that originally covered the handle...wow, I sound just like an old timer, good reason to stick around even though the car is gone..sigh
one other thing, having been taken to task by a inmate of the colony down under, there is still a dwindling part of the world that is confused by 'driver's side'

Agree. That's why I posted BE (Bugeye) rather than FE (Frogeye).
I have pondered the idea of modifying the later type latch by removing the arm with knob and replacing it with a longer knobless arm. I have several spare newer knob type spares. As for ebay, I look several times daily and have for years. Don't ever remember seeing the original longer arm knobless type listed.
My far side/passenger side/right side latch is in great shape with the 'glitter' impregnated protective goop intact. I'll need some coaching on how to successfully duplicate that look on the other latch.

Sorry that I do not have such animal. Beautiful day here in the northwest. Even got 2 of my 3 cars running after a few months. May even drive one over the weekend.
I had one correct 58 door latch and a few later Bugeye door latches. I just repklaced the short lever with a longer lever and welded it on as original. It's just 1/2" steel from the metal rack at home defect or any hardware store.
I came very close to making the glitter coated handle too.
I just put some craft store glitter into a thin, tall glass jar of melted hot glue sticks. I had the glue slowing boiling to mix the glitter evenly, dipped the handles in the jar, let em drip off and they look almost as good as new, just a tad thicker than original.

I have a left side Bugeye door latch with the long lever, complete with the plastic coating with only minor surface scratches, see pic. It has never been installed, no rust, spring still good, but it is not perfectly clean. It has probably sat in a box in the PO's garage for the last 25 years or so.

All my spare parts come from the PO, and weirdly enough I have four door latches for a bugeye, and all four of them are for the left side door. Go figure. Evidently the PO was left-handed.
