For Sale Original AC Ace/Cobra seats. Early 60's, hand made Leveroll by A.W. Chapman, London

I have a pair of really old seats, said to be from a 1963 AC Ace or Cobra. A military friend of mine had them. He had to move overseas and couldn't take them so he gave them to me to try to sell. As you can see from the photos, the lever is stamped on both sides with "A.W.Chapman Ltd, London S.W.6. Leveroll." I can confirm that original Cobras had Leveroll seats. His father had them in his garage (sealed in plastic bags) and said they were from an original Cobra, but I have no way to confirm what they're actually from. The vinyl is in really great shape. The carpet needs to be re-glued in a couple of places. There are some minor tears in the seats as shown. The bottom is aluminum. The hardware rails have some surface rust. Based on what I've seen on BaT and other sites, I think they're worth around $1000 bucks for the pair plus shipping. They're obviously only worth what someone will pay but I really don't know what I have here and don't want my buddy to get ripped off. If anyone has any expert knowledge of exactly what they're from, I'd welcome your input. I'm happy to provide as many detailed photos as you want via email.

They are not from an A.C. Cobra. The tracks for Cobras are different and the seats are a different shape. The best place to advertise them might be be the AC Owner's Club website to determine if they were from other A.C. Cars vehicle.

Thanks for the info! I'll certainly post them ACOC.

You say they are vinyl, are you sure as they would have been trimmed in leather in period, not vinyl.
Can you post a picture showing both the bases and the backs of both the seats side by side? Is one of the leavers missing? What would be the very best price including the shipping cost to the UK?
They are not cobra o ac Bristol.
I would agree that these do not look like Cobra seats.
Are you sure they are not re-trimmed seats from an AC Aceca or AC Ace?

I have done a few AC Bristols, and they are different. I do agree about the adjusters, but they where used on other cars of the same period. They maybe worth more than the seats to the right person needing them.

Malcolm, I'll take more photos as you requested tomorrow. Only one seat has the leaver. I'm not 100% on the material. It looks like vinyl because it hasn't worn like leather I've seen from the period.
