The well anticapted new NW road race course, Oregon Raceway Park is having their 1st open house and public showing tomorrow. My racing " wheel man " ( beer buddy) and I are taking my '65 BJ8 Big Healey street car on the hour and a half drive through the Columbia River Gorge to Grass Vally, OR and the ORP.
I'll give an update after our trip on the look and feel of the track plus the lunch time micro brews.

Think you could film the track portion? Might be interesting to watch and help some guys decide on what gearing to use for later on.

Done and Done - The '65 Big Healey was happy to stretch its legs for the 2 1/2 hour drive to Grass Valley today. A little rain spit in the early morning then a nice 75 degrees through the gorge and central Oregon's eastern valley wheat fields. So what's the track like...................sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Everything we're missing in a track in the NW. Multiple elevation changes and banked
corners. The parade lap video does no justice but having driven it, I can't wait to hit it in the race Healey. It's a drivers track and the light weight small bores are going to go nuts on the "half pipe" complex, my 4:11 LSD should be just right.

The new track looks fun, fast and allot like ThunderHill when it was first built. Did they take the barn down? Somebody's going to hit it as some point.

Ya, the barn came down to meet the SCCA certs. needed to hold sanctioned races. I liked the looks and feel of it near the track, but I agree someone would have pulled a "Dukes of Hazards" and tried to jump over or through it.
