Went on a cruise Tuesday evening on touring boat Zephyr to view, at anchor, some of the tall ships which were participating in OpSail 2012 in NYC. Had a fabulous time.

Impressive.

Delightful.

...jealous...

Thanks for the compliments. Every photographer needs them. The next day was a little disappointing, though. The weather was not very cooperative, what with all the mist, and the fact that I could not get into NYC. I had to shoot from Liberty State Park, a beautiful place, BTW, with the sun backlighting the parade of ships through the haze. Very flat lighting conditions. This was the first year that OpSail coincided with Fleet Week, so we were treated to a double parade - 10 tall ships and 10 military ships. Thank God for PhotoShop and Camera Raw. To give an example, here are two versions, as shot and post-process, of the same photo.
