TR6 Opinions wanted regarding blacked out rockers.

The rockers on my TR6 were blacked out with undercoating which is flaking off. Since I need to make some minor dent and rust repair anyway, I'm trying to decide to go back black or leave them body color. I've never been a fan of black rockers because, to me, it makes a car look higher off the ground. I know it is common on TR6s. What does everyone think? Any photos showing them in body color?

I think it should be body color
 
Rockers with undercoating (or bedliner, etc) on these (and other) cars can make a later buyer wonder if it was done to conceal rust.

Google images has lots of photos of TR6s with and w/o this treatment.
 
Your chose, some colors look better w/o the black some don't. I usually put them back original. You can quickly paint over the rockers if you don't like it.

Mine are satin black to match the rear. I always thought that's the way it left the UK. Were they all the body color when they were made? Did the dealers paint them?
 
I am a fan of black rockers....
 
It's you car so do whatever makes you smile. All cars came from the factory with the black coating on it. It's a rubberized paint that resists stone chips.

That is what was done to mine. There is some dents and a few rust bubbles on the right front fender. I think I will go back with just body color. First I have to remove the fender and take of the rust. I just finished removing the rear fenders to paint and seal the joints. Rust was just starting to form between the body and fenders. I'm try to be preventative without going to far.
 
Believe it or not the red one is the green one.
I sold the stock 74 green one to the fellow in the picture with the red one.
Phil built a frame, put a V8 on the frame, automatic tranny, etc, etc..


Actually the only thing left of the green car in that picture of the red car is the sheet metal.
I think it's all been documented on British V8 site..Phil Crawford is the fellow's name.
 
Love the color Healey_Z. Triumph had the best blue colors of any of the LBCs. IMO. I painted my AH Sprite in Delft Blue after I saw it on a TR6 nearly 30 years ago.
