Opinion Wire Wheels Vs. Minilite Style Knock Offs

I had 185/70X15 Vredesteins on the wire wheel but with the Minilites I went to 185X15 Vredesteins. Very happy with the taller size. If I remember correctly they are 1" taller which gives 1/2' more ground clearance. (Helps a lot).

They roll really well and being slightly taller the side wall seems stiffer than the 185/70. The 185X15 tracks very straight. They also fill up the wheel well nicely.

The downside is that you need to trim about 1/4" off the front seam of the fender and shroud at the very bottom or they will rub under very hard cornering. (Not that I ever do!) No rubbing issues now and will replace with the same tire when time.

Euro Tire in NJ was the best place I found and had them 2 days later to MA. Great to work with.

Think I bought my last set from them; best price and good service. Salesman at Euro informed me the managing director for Vreidestein is a 'Healey guy.' Maybe that's why all their pamphlets have a red BJ8 on them.
