Hi guys

I'm usually over in the MG forum (don't through stones) but I'm thinking of buying a GT6. I'd like to ask you folks for opinions as to what a fair price would be for the car (see photo, I hope it's attached). I don't have much experience with Triumphs and I don't want to pay more than I should for the car.

Here is what I know.

The interior is in Good condition. No rips or tears in the fabric.

The carpets are in usable condition.

Car runs well. No smoke or rough idle.

Exterior looks pretty darn good to me. No major damage from what I can tell. A few parking lot dings here and there, but no chipped paint.

Probably could use a new set of tires, but the rims look nice and straight and clean.

Glass is good all around.

I've seen a similar car for sale in my area, not is as good a shape as this one, for around $2500.

Your opinions as to what I should offer is most appreciated.

Thanks.

How is her transmission? The Spitfire / GT6 transmissions aren't as long lived as the B's box.

Does she have an O/D?

In SoCal GT6's aren't as easy to find in good shape as a B or TR6 even, so solid ones tend to bring $5-7K.

You might want to run a competed auction search on eBay to help give yourself an idea of values.

all i can say is oooooh. (i like gt6's). i would trade my b-gt for a gt6.

i wouldn't either, but i've acquired a taste for these lbc hardtops. i traded a '92 camaro rs for the b-gt

Seems to be nice looking at the photo - I am impressed with the panel fit on that particular one. A lot of the Spitfire/GT6's lines look truely hopeless.

Looks like a good investment from here...

If the other side looks as good, it might not be a bad deal. Body wise, it looks OK, from what I can see, but internet pics are not reliable.

The tires were well dressed, but you caught that and I'm not sure what else was done to spruce it up prior to your visit. If it was just cosmetic, it doesn't seem too bad.
