Starting to sort out the new Bugeye and am looking for your opinions on replacing the fuel filter based on its current location or making the effort to relocate it nearer to the fuel tank?

If I do leave it where is it currently located will a new plastic fuel filter take the engine heat OK?

Picture attached as it currently is.

Thanks!

I've had plastic ones under hood, about 1 ft away from the engine. You can also find metal ones from places like autozone.

If you do use a metal fuel filter keep it away from any heat source. I replaced a plastic one that was installed between the mechanical fuel pump and the front carb and immediately had vapor lock problems. The plastic one never gave me a problem. My 2 cents.
