Anyone use OpenOffice?

Can't for the life of me figure out how to put three columns on the top of the page, but only one on the bottom of the page.

Page top, Columns, Three. But the three columns extend all the way down the page; can't see how to limit the "length" of the column section so I can put a single page-wide section at the bottom.

Any takers? Might be similar to MSWord.

Thanks.
Tom

Hi Tom,
In Libre, start with making a frame [Insert>frame]. Size the frame by dragging the edges with your mouse, lets say the top half of your page. click outside the frame to deselect it then click inside the frame once. Then [Format>columns]. If the bounding box for the frame is showing, I don't think you use the column function. That's why I unselect/reselect it.

With OOffice 3.0 you can set the column number with the Columns tab inside the same Insert>Frame menu.

Frames! of course! (what's the smiley for "feel like a fool" ...)

Thanks gentlemen.

Also found that if I put the single column section at the beginning, then insert another section above it, the columns feature works fine. Just couldn't get a single column section started *after* the column section.

BTW, auto-formatting is a pain. Especially with numbers and outlines ....
