This Wikipedia article has some really intersesting stories about the inverted jenny stamps. Wiki is also really fast, the article mentions the absentee ballot with the stamp on it.

Reminds me of the guy who just put his elbow through the Van Gogh in Vegas. There's a long side story about how the same guy won't cough up a bit of chump change to his alma mater, where my kids go to school, but he elbows the painting, after he refuses to help, and loses millions.

I heard on another news report that the ballot wasn't signed, meaning the vote can't be counted.
