TR6 Only 18.000 miles maybe very good TR6 w/OD

Not bad. very clean, well sorted driver. Rear end sits a bit high don't it?
Most of what I spot is nit picky stuff. All in all, someone will get a decent car.

Brosky & Bango - I was giving this one a serious look (from florida). What sort of things have you noticed - or would ask about? thanks fellas.

One thing I noticed is that it's a very newly registered (licensed) CA plate.... I wonder why....

Although I have not corresponded with the seller, his narative/description struck me as though he is new to the car and/or not familiar with its history etc.

From the auction description: "Straight, soild [sic], unmolested original car in fresh Pimento red...originally French Blue, but was painted Pimento some time ago...a complete color change. All jambs, floor, engine bay and trunk floor were painted..."

Short of a body-off restoration, why would anyone repaint the FLOORS, they being totally covered by carpeting, etc.? And that floor looks darned good for a driver's side footwell...no trace of the blue underneath!? And there seem to be a fair number of "improvements" to a car with only 18k miles.

I'd want to inspect such a car very closely myself. :confuse:

Could be a very nice car, though this points out the variety of interpretations that the term 'original' can have.

eBay Seller said:
...unmolested original car...

Followed by a couple of hundred words about all that has been done to the car.

Nice looking car. I can see what I think is some of the French Blue in the engine compartment pic. if that paint is only 2 months old it shouldn't be showing chips like that I wouldn't think. Still, worth every penny at the current price I would say.

Like has been stated above. the statement "unmolested original" dosen't hold much water here. Not saying anything agenst the cars actual condition, or trying to run down the sellers description. I don't think he's being deceptive, he just interprets that phrase far differently than I do. I think he's looking at it as "it hasen't been extensivly modified from stock"
And the seller has good feedback.
Things I note are
The ride height in the rear is awfully high, Seller states new springs installed. that would explain it, but it still sits funny.
There is a generic aftermarket electric fuel pump mounted under the car. Why? May just be backup, may be someones modification.
The center brace that goes from the dash, around the trans tunnel, and to the floor, is missing. that's gonna give you some terrible cowel shake until it's replaced
But that's all relativly minor stuff. All in all from the pics, it looks fairly decent and solid.
If it passes a good personal inspection, It'd probably be a good car to start with.
