I can't beleive it's been that long. Seems like just a couple months have passed.

Larry

It is amazing how quickly time passes.

Man that brings a tear to my eye!

It's not the same.

Dave :cry:

I was sitting in a teleconference at work when my cell phone began to vibrate. I stepped out of the meeting to answer when I saw it was Mickey. The rest of the meeting was a blur - I don't think I heard another thing said in that meeting after getting the terrible news.

Thanks for posting the photo, Mickey, it's a good one.

Sure are a lot of medals on his chest, one wonders what they are?

Ain't the internet great?

Army Ribbons

One YEAR?? Wow........

Must be a side effect of growing older. There was a time when a dollar was a LOT of money, and $20 was a FORTUNE. Summer seemed just as long as the school year and having to wait 2 weeks for your birthday party seemed FOREVER. Now you blink on Monday and it's Thursday.....

Here's to Tony, gone but NEVER forgotten. :cheers:

Tony touched a lot of lives.... I know he will never be forgotten.

I didn't know he was a war hero and highly decorated. I looked up Mickey's link. Among Tony's ribbons:

The Bronze Star;
Legion of Merit;
Purple Heart;
Meritorious Service Medal;
Humanitarian Service Medal.

A real hero.

He was such a good soldier, he even got other folks medals!

That story of him and the chopper pilot has to be one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

I been trying NOT to remember.

Miss th' man every time I log on here.

events like this create weird time warps in my memory....It sure seems like it was last month.
I can't believe it's been a year already.
gone, but NEVER forgotten.

Mickey posted a link to explain what they are, but FYI, the ribbons are displayed from least important to most important starting on the bottom row (right) and going right to left (as you view the picture) up the rows, with the most significant being on top (in his case, Legion of Merit, which is just above the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Meritorious Service Medal).

Tony will always be missed, in many ways. I kept the avatar that I put up when I heard the news, and promised myself that I'd leave it up for a year as a reminder. It just doesn't seem that long ago.....

Don't know if I have the heart to change it just yet.

I still recall a numbness after logging onto the internet after work and hearing the news last January, I lost way too many friends that particular month, not just Tony... He will be remembered...
