One Step Backwards.......

I decided that I'd finally get around to installing the heater box.

Open hood

Notice a hose in way

Take hose off

Notice that there's a metal line in the way

Take clamps off of metal line

Battery's in the way - remove battery

Noticed that there's a space for the metal line
to go through on the heater box

Put heater box into position - can't get bolts started

Remove heater box - still can't get bolts started

Reinstall battery,line clamps,& hose

Put Midget back in garage

Go back in house - tempted to take up drinking again

Sounds like my last month in the garage. Progress comes slowly sometimes....

And to add injury to insult,the plastic choke knob broke,
cutting my finger.

I went to bolt in the Fuel Pump on Bugsy to the rivnut I had previously installed on right rear panel. I tried using a NF bolt instead of a NC thread bolt. When it didn’t go I ran a NF Tap in there. Now it mean replacing the rivnut. I hate when I I screw up at end of day when I’m tired and try todo one more little project.

I seem to have more patience for others and much less for myself now a days.

But I had a triumph with bolts I screwed up and fixed them but now 2-3 hours on that project. This crap takes forever.

Doug, you probably already know those threads are 1/4 x 28. You probably will have to clean up the threads. I had to run a tap through mine but if you have or can borrow a thread chaser it is less dangerous.

On the Alfa Spider, they installed a heater box and built a car around it. So it is said.

Spent all afternoon the other day getting brake line to rear of car fit. Went to install starter and SOB no matter how I clocked it I could not get starter to go in without ripping out the brake line. Time to get some cupro nickel and splice into part of the line. I hate brake lines����
