Agree 100%. Lovely car!

I "owned" an ALFA Spider like that for one for a day (it's a long story, but suffice to say that the previous owner had a problem with the title).

I go to a little car show near my house in the Summer. Mostly hot rods. But a nice little drum brake Spider (like above) appeared at the last show of the season.
I regret not speaking to the owner, but he was an older guy having fun showing off the car to a pair of very fetching ladies......and didn't want to interrupt. :wink:

My favourite cars are still Spridgets.
But if I could, I would like to own one of those Spiders and also a Caterham Seven at some point.

Back when the Alfas were a hot item, I couldn't afford one! Then the kids came along and you know that story. After sending them of to a higher education and the money pit was empty, I got involved in Mgs, (much cheaper by far) and the rest of the story is still being written. PJ

Edit: my neighbor got a 1992 Alfa 164 for his son's high school graduation present two years ago, plus two parts cars. I don't know why he chose the '92 164.

The Tucker is an award winning show car on loan from the Sweikert Museum, and one that was featured in "Tucker, a Man and His Dream".

And yes, Caty is sitting next to Peg. You better hurry down...your soda is getting warm, and the sandwich is getting cold.

Ahhh, the Tucker. My dad was on the list to buy one in Youngstown, deposit down and ready....and then.

One of the reasons I go to Francis Ford's wineries in CA is to see the Tuckers he has on display. One at each. I think between the Godfather series and Tucker he made the $$$ to buy the wineries.

I had an offer to straight up trade my '66 Sprite for an early 60s Alfa roadster in the late 70s, I think I bought the Sprite for $600 or so, the Alfa ran, but barely, I passed, no money to fix/repair anything like, that, to honest at that time I was into cars, but had very little knowledge of those early alfas.

I've had three of the Bertone GT's over the last 37 years. a '65 1300 Junior, '66 1600 and a '69 GTV 1750. GREAT cars, wish I could afford to buy another of the 1750's. The Spider just don't do it for me. I've just about run the wheels off'n this one.

I remember when I was a kid we were passed by a Tucker. I guess it was a demo car as it had a neon type sign in the back window saying, "You Have Just Been Passed By A Tucker", or something to that effect. I think the big three put it out of business. I heard they were afraid of it. Quite a car. PJ

If we're talking the the coolest Alpha Romeo coupe ever, the Double Bubble from '56 has to be considered (personally I think it's the prettiest car ever).

sitting in my shop next to my sprite,I have a 1968 Mercedes Benz 250 sedan-bulletproof 2.5 liter 6,4wheel disc brakes,one of the most comfortable big sedans I have ever ridden in. Because of the leaded fuel requirement I dont drive it much anymore but I love the car and will keep it forever

Red - where did you read that your 250 needs leaded fuel?

At least regarding the engine, M-B hasn't required lead since the 1950s. Valves were hardened and don't need the lead.

it detonates on unleaded gasoline,so I had some leaded racefuel in my shop and I used it and it stopped. It does not like the unleaded fuel that is available in my area. It is a 2.5L I6 with the twin INAT carbs and all I know is that the knock stops and it runs well with lead additive or as I said before the leaded racefuel.Have fooled around with advance and fuel trim and it is what it is.

Red - where did you read that your 250 needs leaded fuel?

Yes, Amoco was unleaded before '68.

I remember doing a college research study in '69 on leaded vs. unleaded gasoline (some companies were also selling "low lead" by the late '60s).
