Boy that sucks. It's just amazing the driver was ok.
 
At current prices, probably cost-effective to restore it.

Yea, if it was insured for an agreed value like the million mentioned, then it's certainly cheaper for the insurance company to completely rebuild than total.
 
Looks like the "Jaws of Life" were used to extricate the driver.
Here,once you make a cut with the "Jaws",the vehicles a total.
But we're talking about a 2000GT - a car that's worth a ton of money.
I sat in one in Concord,CA,at the local Toyota dealership,& was told that I could
buy it for $5,000.No 19 year old (that I knew)at that time had that kind of money.

Same with the gullwing - if you can afford to buy it and you can afford to drive it, you can afford to repair it - or alternately walk away from it.
