Well, I've come to a place of peace with the Tunebug. I was pushing hard to get the car ready for the club show on Saturday, but it's not to be. I'm still having trouble with overheating, and just now I seem to have done something to the starter. One "dit" and it now does nothing.

I think I was pushing just a bit too hard. I'm going to slow down a bit and work through the bits a bit more. Learning a bit every day, and that's the real point. Just need to take a deep breath, and dive in to the systems a bit deeper, without the time constraints.

Car shows are more fun when you don't have a car to worry about anyway.
 
You should go to one, they are a lot of fun. I love looking at nice cars. One of the reasons I have a LBC now is because of the local British Field Day. Kept my interest up as I was saving money. Our local show is very casual--no awards, and cars of any condition are embraced. Just a chance to see a broad range of British cars and bikes, always a good thing.
 
I go to shows with or without an appropriate car.
It's fun just to look, even if I'm just passing by in my mini-van.
Sometimes I take my M2 Miata and tell people it's really a Lotus Elan Mk 5 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

As everyone else is saying- do go to the show! it will inspire you. To fix your starter- it is probably just a low battery or bad connection and the Bendix got stuck in the ringgear. Easiest fix is just to leave it in 4th gear and push it forward about 3 feet(with the ignition OFF) and it should be ready to go again.

I had similar trouble with my old TR4, and it was low battery issues. I've been idling a lot lately as I've been adjusting stuff, so it probably discharged the battery. Remembered it this morning, and haven't had a chance to test it yet.

I'm definitely going to the show--heck, I've been to the last 2 and didn't even own a car. It's a great gathering of rides, well worth the time spent. Besides, now I can rid the new motorcycle down, which is always fun.
