Don't let the triumph guys hear this, but I've been advertising the TR6 for sale...Had a gentleman come out and look at it last week and I mentioned I also had an MGB LE I was thinking about selling....Well he fell in love with it and let me name my price(well into the 5 digits). So I did and tonight we finalised the deal. He already owns a Spitfire and this will be his toy while the Spitfire is worked on. I wouldn't have sold this car to just anybody and I feel he'll care for it to the same standards I have-if not better as he has the proper indoor storage. So I guess with the MGB sold I can use the extra parking spot to keep the TR6 for now....I am sad to see it go, but it's for the best-for both me and the car, I hardly drove it....maybe put 15 miles on it so far this season. My son was also a little sad to see it go as he put alot of time into making it look amazing.....But I promised him that with this I'll buy him the S10 he's wanted next week when I am back on holidays....New owner is picking her up sometime this week and I'll be sure to tell him about the BCF then- maybe we'll get a new resident /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....man!

Well, congratulations.. I think.

I sold my TR7 today too. We will have to finalize it though, when I get back from a trip up north in the MGB this week. It seems that after 28 years the rear trailing arm has separated from the frame because of dreaded rot. It is something I could repair in time, but it is a very important area, major support, and a major element in the alignment of the vehicle. A fellow from the TR7 forum I also go on is going to save it. He is getting a great deal on it, but I didn't want it parted out.
So.. now all my time will be with the MG's and I am going to keep an eye out for a Drop head TR7, or in a couple years, maybe an 8.
I will miss it.

Paul

Glad to hear of it going to a good home. I was afraid from the title that this was another "I scrapped it out" thread like the one for my TR4A ~ a moment of silence~
I must be missing something about the '80 LEs. as there is one listed in our paper today for $20,000. I think the guy is nuts. but It sounds like maybe I'm the one a little off. Still ,around here, I bet it dosen't sell for anywhere near that.

Sorry bout the TR7....But at least it's going to a good home.
I really wanted the TR6 gone(it needs some cosmetic work in order to be up to my standards) but I am glad I got rid of at least one car, I am(was?) at a point when every free minute of my time goes into maintaining the cars...I still haven't touched the other two B's or the Camaro or even the 58 A since last fall...I will really miss this LE though. I wanted it around when I finished my TC because I always thought the two together(both in black) would make a great pic....oh well

$20,000 is a little high...Although I got $12,500 for mine...it is probably one of the best original unrestored cars around, but still has a few defects.

Sounds like it won't be that far away to invite it over for a photo shoot at a later time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You can always replace it later. They aren't rare cars. Or better yet, get a nice black MK I MGB! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've got a real nice MkI car - but its not going anywhere!

It went to Burlington....He said he'd probably take it to British car Day...So I'll be seeing it around....Every year I go to British car day and spend a good portion of the day just 'checking up' on cars I've owned.

They are rarer up here- only 250 sent to canada...I had to bring this one up from Florida...I'd like a CB car though....kinda complete the line up

What is it with the Burlington area and LBC's? I look throught the Buy&Sell and the Tri-Ad magazines up here, and there are always lots of LBC's for sale in the area.

I suppose I should be happy for you.

But DUDE, you kept a 'rumf over an MG??? ARE YA NUTS!?
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Paul, you ever driven through Burlington via lakeshore...All those huge homes, mostly owned by english people with too much money....Tons of LBC's in there. I drove through there about a week ago, tons of Jags, a TR6(unplated so left a note) and an MGB...This was on a weeknight too....I bet if you go there on a nice saturday night it will be LBC heaven.

Yes, I know...I was forced to keep a BROWN rumph over a sexy black MG /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I go that way every time I go from work to my Daughter's in St. Catherines. I thought that was where You lived Ron. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

HaHa...I wish....In that case I wouldn't be selling anything!

You have to change your name now.

dang, never thought of that....My name is out of date....guess I'll have to pickup another mg /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
