One eyed midget

I had my dad come up and help me today to put the front end and fenders on the midget. Its been a long time and I could not believe how many bolts hold that front piece on and 11 bolts are in the front fenders. We got the nose piece all tight and the drivers side fender on when my dad left for lunch and said he would be back in 1/2 hour. I finished tightening all the loose bolts, but when my dad came back he brought my moms 94 escort because it would not idle only run at high speed, so then I had to stop and work on that /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif It still is not running right but we quit for the day. My moms car not working and the midget with one eye. I think I might have the escort figured out now, so hopefully I can get to the other fender soon. Will try and take some pictures tomorrow.

I have been using a walker to get around down there and taking it easy as I can. I actually fell today. Dang walker caught on something and down I went actually landed on the bad knee but it was bent and did not feel much pain from the knee but got a nice skinned place on my shin. I stayed on the floor down there after that and just crawled around.

Got my moms escort problem solved today, runs like a top now. My knee has been aching since the fall. I hope and pray to God that I did not do it a serious damage. I wish I could undo it but I can't. I have to get up from this machine and do a little something for a couple hours a day or I will go insane. I go back to the doc on Tuesday and will tell him what happened. This type of knee injury takes a 4-6 month recovery period. I have to occupy my mind. The midget is a bit of a distraction from the worry. My dad is coming up at noon tomorow and we will hopefully get the other fender installed. I have decided that I will rivet in a new piece of metal on the lower part of the grill surround where the grill mounts.

I blew my knee out a few years ago playing the game of hockey. It has never been the same, because I wasn't smart enough to let it heal properly before I went back on it.Please take your time and get it fixed and healed. In the long run you won't regret it.
Dave

I have been trying to let it heal right and do all the exercises and things, but sometimes things just happen.I try not to do too much, just piddle on things a bit. My dad came up and helped me put the other fender on today. Low as the midget is I did all the work sitting on the ground. Hard to fall that way, he he. Here is some pictures.

Starting to look like a real car. Good on ya.

And take it easy, I have a steel knee and it took months to get right. All well now of course.

Taking breaks are good. I've had plenty of evenings where I wanted to throw in the towel and sell the Tunebug. After some time away I've always felt better.

Yep, 15 min breaks are good for the old bod.

Just can not stay put in the mornings.

I went to the doc and they did xrays and it looks like the fall did not do any noticable damage. Doc wants me to start walking on the knee with the help of th crutches as tolerated and bear some weight. Also physical threrapy. The midget might have to wait a while. Meanwhile, I can do some more thinking on it. Still lots of bodywork to do and recovering the seats and things like that can be done anytime.

I gotta say, the first time I saw this thread title I was half expecting to read a joke... "ok, there's a one eyed midget, a priest and a camel..."

You should have seen what I was gonna put... It seems I do have some self-restraint after all!
