IMHO, Bill Fields was (and still is) one of the greats. Had a poster of him with a poker hand in front of his face, with the caption: "Trust everybody. But cut the cards." It was hung on the living room ceiling in my apartment back in the '70's.
 
My friend had a poster with Ronald Reagan,in Western garb,holding a gun out.
The caption was "Thanks for the votes,suckers"
