Olympic Closing Oddity

Just saw that as the IOC dude declared the Olympics done, NBC showed a long shot of the stadium where everyone was walking backwards; check your TIVO.

Editing error or more proof that the Chinese control more than we think. Hmmm.

And what an embarrassment that new London Mayor turned out to be; scruffy, badly fitting suit and totally out of his depth on the world stage. They have 4 years to get him right, but at least they were honest with the umbrellas.

I just saw a glitch in the closing while they were showing those guys "flying" around in the lighted suits. the video studdered for a moment, and those flyin guys all disappeared for a split second, showing the same backgorund, but no performers. then the feed cut off for about 10 seconds and picked up on the next scene.
hmmmmmm.

But you have to admit, that was one fantastic closing ceremony! The wife and I have watched the summer and winter Olympics for the past 30 years or more and it was the most fabulous closing event we've ever seen. I think a lot of credit and praise should go to the creators. JMHO PJ

You mean I missed the closing ceremony of the 29th Olympic volley ball tournament!

It was on quite long, wasn't it! So were the cross country races, which in my opinion, I would liked to have seen more of the other events, shot put, hammer throw, javelin, long jump etc, that could have been shown during the cross country races that were on most of the day.

You mean

The 29th Olympic Chinese Diving Championship.

or the

The 29th Olympic Festival of Commercials on NBC.

Sheesh - there was a commercial after every dive or side-out.

Boris Johnson was born in New York! He's an interesting character, you should read his bio. Yes he's scruffy, but very astute, and has a good sense of humour. I shall make no comment regarding his predecessor!

By the way, when do the Olympic games start?

He was on a genealogy programme the other evening.

His paternal great-grandfather was a Turkish journalist that became their Interior Minister and tried to arrest Ataturk, and was later executed for it.

On his mother's side his family went back to an illegitimate daughter of a German aristocrat and then to George II of England.

And he's related to otherwise normal people too.

It was interesting.

He's been an MP and plays (sometimes too well) at being a buffoon.
