Just in case anyone might be interested, there is a very interesting 100 in the new BCF Trader now. I had to help the guy (and older gent) post the ad. Sounds like an interesting history, but I know next to nothing about Healey's Just passing it along.

Two fine healey's in that section... real nice

Hey all,
If anyone is interested in this BN1, I purchased a BN6 from the owner,
Archie, and can attest to the quality of the work that his former
Brit car shop did on my BN6 and believe was started on the BN1. It was
too much of a project for me but Archie's a good man and I would certainly recommend if anyone is interested in it, get hold of him and go from there.
Regards and Merry Christmas to everyone,
Mike

I don't mean to start trouble here, but I'm wondering who would consider buying that project for $60K. I think you could buy a gold quality restored 100 for that kind of money. Is there some value as a vintage racer that I don't understand?

At this point, the patina is all certainly long gone! :eeek:

Obviously it depends where you live if this is worthwhile as a comparison, but you could have this one for (well, advertised at) €45000 ($65000), OK it doesn't have race history, but it is finished!

Point being, would your rather have a basket case that some guys used to race, or a finished car? I'll take the finished car ever day and twice on Sunday.

If that "some guys" last name sounds like Cunningham, Penske, Shelby, Hill, Andretti, Unser, Stewart, etc. I'll take the used basket case! But then I'm semi-mental...er....sentimental that way... LoL

...especially Sir Jackie Stewart...any steering wheel he has touched deserves a premium in my book...

Where does it say any of those guys were involved with this car? As best i can tell from the ad, it was shipped to the same town where Carroll Shelby worked. Is that what it takes to make a car special? I really didn't intend to go negative on this car. I was just hoping for some explanation for the asking price.
