I did that on my midget. I was able to find a cheap Sprite grill from a friend with many spare parts. It's more of an undertaking than you might think, and requires cutting some metal to get the grill to fit right.
But man, I a like the way my car looks with that grill!
I would keep an eye out on ebay. I have seen them from time to time! If I recall correctly they actually are three to four separate pieces comprized of the grill and the surrounding trim pieces! I know there is a current listing on ebay for the trim pieces right now!
I just found this listing...(a bit pricey thoughI think, but all new parts!) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MG-MIDGET...1QQcmdZViewItem
If you are creative, some nice steel mesh screen or "hardware-cloth" painted black can make an attractive grill to fit within the chrome surround pieces. Just attach a chrome "MG" logo and you will have a nice "custom" look!
The price is right!!! You would get the chrome surround that the other link wanted so much for! You could get creative with the center part!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
I posted this on another thread (excuse the 70s attire!!) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif , but the "mesh" in the grill was a homemade insert with the Sprite badge added! I like the black grill with the chrome around it even though at the time of the picture I did not have the chrome pieces on!
It should make no difference to him how it is sent, since the buyer pays shipping anyway!!! I always request snail-mail if I don't need the part ASAP!!
