old wing mirrors

Cranked up my new TR3 and took it to the gas station for some pump gas(first time mind you).

On the way my right wing mirror falls out of the housing, and the glass mirror cuts its way down the bonnet and wing groove, only to hit the door and the rear wing of my beautiful shiney new paint job.

If you have old Lucus wing mirrors, you might go to the glass shop and have them cut and urethane new mirrors in place, like I now have.

I hate it when that happens!

Remember that it is genuine British parts falling off you car!

It's ok if the parts fall off the bottom of the car, the guy behind you gets to keep it. But not on the new paint. I doubt "oh darn it" was not the first thing out of your mouth. I hope the damage can be buffed out. Lots of buffing advice on an other post.
