I was on a business trip to Rapid City, SD, this last week and got a chance at lunch to check to see if this place was still there.

It is, when I spotted this the first time about 15 years ago he no longer sold new cars, but still sold some old British stuff (I remember an E-type there and a few others). Now it is a pet store of some sort, but cool that the signs are still there. I know this is the Triumph forum, but the Alfa sign is way cool.

Saw this GT6 too, it started with a for sale sign the first day I saw it the sign was gone when I went back and snapped a pic.

Great pictures. Thanks for posting. I see what you mean by the Alfa sign - talk about old memories!

But the building is now a pet snack bakery ... sic transit gloria mundi!

Very nice! It's cool that they didn't take any of the signs down. They look great!

We had a little shop like that near me. It was Ray Walle's "Little Foreign Car Shop".
Now it's a pizzeria with no indication of its former glory.

If you're not sure who Ray Walle is:
...in 1976 he drove a Cosmo (Mazda RX-5) from Princeton, New Jersey, to Daytona, won the Touring Class Under 2.5 Liters at the 24 Hours of Daytona, and drove the car back to New Jersey. The Cosmo placed 18th overall in a field of 72. The only modifications were racing brake pads, exhaust, and safety equipment. One of the first big motorsports wins for Mazda

I know doc is already making plans to hang that Alfa sign on his garage. Drinking cold CAB's under an Alfa sign... life doesn't get much better

Just what the world needs, another cookie store for spoiled pets. What the world really needs is a good reputable British car shop!

Nice to see the signs still there. You have to hope that that if the owner of the building ever decides to remove them that they will go to a good home and not get tossed.

I would guess that there have been inquiries about the sign. Rapid City is not a big town but a lot of tourists go through and the shop is in downtown Rapid City.

Maybe it is in a historic preservation district or the building owner wants to keep them. I can't imagine that a few car nuts haven't gone through town and tried to buy the signs.

Those signs will make him a lot more money than the stupid pet cookies.....

I bet the pet cookies are healthier then some of the stuff we put in our mouths.

I hope you're right! But in general the pet food industry is very poorly regulated. There have been a number of stories in recent years of pets who have suffered as a result of profiteering! As a dog lover, this makes me very angry! oh, well that's another whole topic.

Quite true, but the same thing has happened to people. Oddly enough, the problems seem to have mostly originated in the same country where we get a lot of our defective parts.

Gee Randall, that's a surprise....I wonder why?

Another picture on the news today about a mysterious haze hanging over a city there. How about everyone walking around all day with face masks on? Nice to go for a ride with the top down and have to clean your windshield every 10 miles. The lungs are a bit harder to clean....
