Old Mags

I was refered to somebody who wanted to get rid of basement full of old British car mags. There were only 8 boxes ranging from aprox. 10 to 25 yrs old. His dad spent time in England and he wanted to get them out of his basement. With everything else going on they are now in my way, but they are really interesting. The first one I picked up featured a Daimler Dart, and I have a friend who has one, so he gets that one. They'll be fun to read and enjoy.

Sounds like a good find. Enjoy!

Are there current mags that feature Sprites etc? Can't seem to find any at the typical book stores.

I started a subscription to Grassroots Motorsports and they just finished a complete rebuild of a later Midget. It's a pretty good read and fairly inexpensive. In one of my new finds, Practical Classics (spring of 98) they have an article on upgrades of the sprite. A tuned 1275 and better breathing exhaust, a Toyota or Siera 5 speed, brake, suspension, and alternators are all mentioned. One individual has a 8 port crossflow head by Arden eng. with "four AMAL motorbike carburettors". I think we are only continueing a fun tradition with our cars.

Sounds like a great find. Are you going to e-bay any you don't want?

Check our site https://www.teamsprite.com and click on the "period bugeye reviews" on the first page, there are a dozen there.

Brian & the girls.

They are kinda a magnet, I can't walk by without picking one up. I really don't plan on really going through them until after I get my car back together and that probably be this spring. However as I pick up and read individual mags I plan on earmarking and saving the spridget articles. Do you think the mags have a value on EBay.

Everything has a value on eBay.

Absolutely!

Not all of them, and maybe only when the right person looks... but yes.

Just don't advertize it as "June, 1959 Car & Driver" or whatever it is.

List the cars reviewed, and any notable articles.

You might make more money by cutting out the articles and selling them piece-meal, I've seen that done a fair bit.

I've bought a number of older articles about my cars from e-bay....

Have a look on e-bay and see what's getting sold, the prices paid; and you'll be able to judge whether its worth your while....
