General TR Old imperfect windshield - keep it toss?

Hi all,

I an probably overthinking this, but I get nervous when throwing out original parts:

I have what appears to be the original windshield for my TR4A. (Significantly thicker than the replacement from TRF.) It has a chip, right in the drivers line of sight. About 1” in diameter.

Should I keep it / give it away to someone? (I posted it on the triumph classifieds, but not sure if that forum gets enough traffic.)

There are kits to repair windshields. Do they work?

(I decided to replace because I’m particular about my eyes - I always clean my glasses, safety glasses, and can’t stand a dirty windshield - I know, look at the road not the glass )

What is the consensus?

You might talk to one of the windshield chip repair guys.
They have done wonders several times for us on our every day car.
Very affordable.

I’d try chip repair and if it works keep it as a spare.
