I've been interested in British cars ALL my life but JUST TODAY learned of your forum. I caught the disease in the early 1950s when I was JUST tall enough to see over the top of a haybale while attending early SCCA races with my parents. Learned to drive in the 60's in a well-used right-hand drive MGA which I purchased for the massive sum of $375. Believe it or not that car has been restored by a good friend and is running well to this day. Have spent almost 50 years ( on and off) as a credentialed corner marshall with SCCA. I still believe that Can-Am and Trans-Am account for MUCH of my hearing loss. Current British car is a 1960 A-H Sprite vintage racer which I have driven ( again, on & off) since 2016. I currently need to sell several other (non-British ) cars in order to acquire my dream car which is a nicely restored MG-TD or Morgan. It's just this thing about square hoods and open cockpits. I guess that's a good introduction for now. Your's in the Sport, "Bayman65"

Bayman, welcome to this weird world of LBC's. Enjoy your Tinitus!!! I got mine shooting (photography) at various Indy races and an F1 race and the Hampden Maine Rifle Club back in the very early 60's... Who needs ear protection? Love the Can-Am and Trans-Am... music. Ever get to the vintage races at the Glen?

welcome and glad you are here

We have probably been in the same places at the same time on occasion. I think of Lime Rock now as my "home" track since the demise of Bridgehampton. The original street circuit at Bridgehampton STILL exists very much as it was in the 1950s. The roads are still as narrow, bumpy and lined with hedges as they were then. The humpback bridge on the circuit which crosses a small inlet was recently rebuilt to historical dimensions and appearance, only stronger. I get up to the Glen Vintage "now and then". LOVE the street fair ! Have raced at the Glen and enjoy BOTH circuits, long and short. In a Sprite the GP circuit does seem like "a long way around."

Welcome aboard, Batman! Hope you will enjoy your time here and hopefully make a lot of new friends!
