Old Gas - How do I legally Dispose of it?

You know, I keep hearing about gas going bad in X number of days but I drive vehicles with several month old fuel on a regular basis and none of them run any better or worse, even after I refill with fresh stuff.

Thanks Mickey. The answer is obvious - just use it as a mixer with a nice, mellow CAB. Am I right, Doc?

Agree. Same with me, and that includes the lawn and snow stuff. Now... gas mileage is another story.

Why give it away? Burn it in your car, four wheeler, lawn mower, chainsaw, weed wacker...anything...No sense in tossing it. It is not BAD- it will burn.

If you have some old fuel cans you don't like put the old gas in them place them in the bed of your pickup in a very visible way and go to Walmart for some people watching. Guaranteed it won't be your problem by the time you come back.

BRILLIANT!!!

I'm sorry that this caused such a problem - I'm the kind of person
who tries to do the "right thing".I recycle our trash (mabybe to the-
point of "anal-rentive"),& want to dispose of this stuff in a respons-
ible way.
I will spend hours separating metal parts from waste, break down
cardboard, etc,so I've trained myself to try & do the right thing.
I still have a hard time letting a car go to the crusher,if any-
thing can be saved off of it.
OK,sorry for "patting myself on the back" here - that's how I got
Carpel Tunnell Syndrom.

I agree. If it hasn't varnished then I'd just fill up with fresh gas and run it through.

Might want to filter it first.

I was thinking that he had already drained the fuel.

Forgot to add - it's 5 gallons (or less),still in the vehicles.
The starter doesn't work on the Cortina (it's getting fixed),so I still
have a lot of work to do.

If it were mine I would mix it with fresh gas and burn it in my lawnmower. Heck, my cars are so old I probably could burn it in them.

That's what I have done in the past.
