Old dog slipping on tile

Only 2 rooms on that floor then?

Depends on what you call "room". You'd have to see it to full understand. The whole bottom floor is open except the bathroom and laundry room. It works out really nice and given the fact there are windows all around and we live on four acres it gives a very open feel.

That's why they are called "area"
You use them to define ares of the floor plan

The sweat glands are between the toes, not the pads themselves. What about surfboard wax? Mr. Zog's Sex Wax?

I vote for the baby booties.

Where's out resident Vet, Steve?!?

You'd have to see it, that would only cover a small bit. Lotsa isles in between. The superglue was to affix ground rubber to his pads, last resort of course. Acid etch of the floor sounds good to me. He's doing better since I clipped his nails and deglazed his pads with 36 grit.

No....I didn't use a grinder...

Booties aren't a good choice for the terrain here, mud and stuff ya know.

About this rosin, any toxicity at all?

Just checked out the show foot stuff, seems just the ticket. Still might etch the floor, we'll see.

kellysguy...Don't leave 'em on when goes outside in the mud. Just use the baby booties when he's indoors. I think they may be the ticket.

Ya know... the breadth of experience and expression and topics on this forum never ceases to amaze me!

Why else you think I ask here before I google search, cause I'm lazy? Uhhhh, nevermind..

This joint blew my mind a long time ago.

The only way I'll every get amazed here again is if someone DIDN'T know the answer.

In and out CONSTANTLY! Old bladder ya know...and, sometimes he doesn't make it so they'd have to be waders...

Gravel drive, lots'a dirt, sticks, leaves etc , no concrete anywhere near the house. I dust mop inside 5-6 times a day and believe me, booties aren't an option.

That rosin spray or a chunka sounds good at least for now. At least I got a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks guys, y'all have no idea how much this means, really!

Rosin is the term that describes coniferous tree resin that's been cooked. The cooking gets rid of most of the volatile compounds and converts liquid to solid. I use it to make varnish, on violin bows and, on occasion, to keep things from slipping.

Is it toxic? Not by my standards, but he's your dog and you'll have to answer that question for yourself. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosin

Sounds o.k to me. I'd try it on myself first. I'll try the spray first as that seems to be the easiest way to get it on him. We'll see how long that holds up. Thanks for the offer, I'll let you know.

Be careful your dog doesn't like the taste of whatever you choose. He might start licking or chewing on his paws. I had a husky that would eat anything. If you tried putting anything on his paws he would probably gnaw it off.

There's no way I'd spray anything on the dogs paws! Never heard of such a thing! Make the floors less slippery not the dogs feet! Butchers wax on the floor will help. Sorry but, I just can't imagine anyone doing that to an animal! :concern: PJ

Don't put anything on his paws except the baby socks mentioned. Go buy a large roll of indoor /outdoor carpet and fit it in place for as long as you have your old 4 legged friend. If you section it you can easily clean up any accidents.

kellysguy...try Googleing a dog mushing website.. Where we're from in Alaska they use booties in some incredibly foul weather...just sayin'. Try this or some others www.ultrapaws.com/Boots

I say go for the ultrapaws I just checked out their site and they look pretty darned cool, and much better for indoor outdoor traffic than booties.

Just what I want on my hardwoods...
A sand finish ;)
