Old British car person, new car

Greetings all, I am a fairly old hand at British cars, having had a '61 Midget, a 73 GT6+ and still having a '58 MGA (since 1975) a '59 MGA that I bought with the money I had saved for our honeymoon (I had her permission) in 1985, a '77 MGB and a '79MGB. My most current project is a '75 Triumph TR6 which I have to have ready for my daughter to drive to her senior prom. I signed up because I found out that even though my experience and knowledge with MG's is fairly extensive, my knowledge base about TR's is woefully lacking. I hope to start picking brains about the little stuff on TR's real soon.

David

Welcome, David! You'll find the pickin's pretty fat around here when it comes to TR6's. Some of it is even trustworthy!

Hop on over to the Triumph section and post away!

Welcome David. These old British cars can take a while, how old is that daughter of yours? Hope you both enjoy your project and it brings you closer.

There's not so much "different" about the TR's (DON'T tell th' MG guys I said that!). Just use what you know of the MG cars and 'extrapolate'.

Welcome to th' fold, David. This is a VERY pro-active bunch. The minutiae are part-and-parcel of th' Triumph fellas' sum total. They'll fill in any "blanks" you need, certainly.

...and there's a definite appreciation for photos of cars 'n projects here. Post some of the things you're workin' on!

You'll get all the needed info in a nunce (or two). :jester:

I like the trustworthy comment; I am fairly active on a couple of other forums, and I have learned, information received on a forum is a great place to start finding out more. It is much easier to get a bunch of information from others and wade through it all than trying to research a topic and THEN try to wade through it all. Thanks for the welcome

David

Thanks for the welcome, my daughter is 18 going on 35. She's the only other one in the family that "appreciates" British cars.

I hope to have time soon to learn how to post pictures on this form; I am fairly active on a couple of other forums, and both have different protocols for pictures. Too much to lean, and here I am stuck in the 70's with old British iron. thanks for the welcome

David

Welcome David,
You will get great help from the Triumph crowd. Basil may have some instructions for posting photos in the files here, but just be sure you click the "switch to full reply" button at the bottom of the reply box, and then use the file manager below the text box. We want to see photos.

And stop by the Pub for pint from time to time to learn more about some of the characters who live here.

Enjoy the Ride!

Hi David,

I guess everyone pretty much said it all so far.
