Looks like they're in for another round today, too.
 
I don't know if things like this are happening more frequently, or we're just finally hearing about it, but it seems like more of this is going on...
 
Yep, I'm in NW Oklahoma City. We got over 10 inches between 3:00 am and noon yesterday. Lots of unexpected flooding as our normal YEARLY rainfall is only 35 inches. Lots of folks doing really dumb stuff too, like trying to drive through water up to their headlights! Kinda reminds you of that old redneck phrase, "I can do it. Hold my beer and watch this." Looks like we got another inch or so last night but things are starting to look much better today.

My dad, who passed at 92 and who I miss dearly, always said that the worlds weather changes in period cycles. As a kid I wasn't sure what he meant. But he saw over 90 years of weather changes and being born and raised as a farmer, he was very weather conscious. Yes, I agree that we are so well informed today on what's happening around the world, almost the instant it happens, we get a different outlook on things. My dad always said when he heard someone complain about the weather,"The rains come, the rains go, the droughts come and the droughts go, learn to live with it, it's Gods wish"! Then every once in a while, he would say, man gets himself in trouble by plowing a field where no crops should grow. Figure that one out. I love old people, they are so smart and come straight to the point! PJ

Makes perfect sense to me. He sounds like ol' Tercy, the local guy who gave me his truck. Soon to be 92.
