Seems like we have become the earthquake capital of the world! I always knew that Oklahoma was the best at something! Sure glad we live in a quiet area in the North East! West and South of Tulsa and Oklahoma City are the hot spots. Here's a little info on the amount of quakes. PJ

Fracking?

Fracking?

That has created a lot of the problem and people are working on this, some of the results are evident by the 2017 report. :encouragement: PJ

In addition to the possibly causing the temblors, fracking pollution of the aquifers from whence you derive a great deal of your water is also of concern. It occurs to me that every part of your infrastructure (gas, oil, water, power, buildings, foundations and roadways) may be at risk from subsidence and or the apparently near constant shock and vibration.

It's really frustrating when you see things like this and know that there is nothing you can do to help. It does seem like the oil industry is finally starting to change some of its ways though. Hopefully the number of quakes will continue to fall.

Strange thing is, I did computer modeling for an oil company for several years back in the 60s and 70s that was very active in Oklahoma. Essentially all wells were "fracked" even way back then. And waste water was reinjected, typically to help push the oil out.

Seems like Oklahoma has surpassed California. Happened about the time my son moved there.
