Okay, where the Hades IS everyone!??!

Weather finally decent here in the District of Criminals. I started to bolt some of the parts I have been working on all winter, back on to the Corvair shell. In a week or two it will be back on wheels for the first time since the mid eighties. I am missing 2 stinking little washers from having the front subframe done. This thing is a giant puzzle. I didn't take it apart, and it has been apart for 20 plus years. Everything I do on it is a bit of an adventure, but that is what restoration is supposed to be right? right? Back to chasing threads, and bead blasting hardware...

Finished putting anti-freeze into the
Cortina MKIIGT.Need to put oil in it & start
it up.

CLASSY, lee!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Whee!! Second and last day of our drivers school, and pretty uneventful. We like it that way. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif Just a couple of minor mechanical failures, and I don't think anyone lost more than a lap or two of track time all day. Schmoozed with "Racing Girl" and her hubby after the event, passed out a couple of BCF cards, and drank a couple of the beers a grateful student brought.
Sunny and high 70's all day. Now I've got a little impetus to finish my "new" car.
Great weekend!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif
Everyone should be so lucky!

Been working / traveling like a dog and tending to the new wrenchholders when at home...

I can document ONE hour spent in the garage since December. Folks are coming in to visit for a week soon and I hope to get some sanity back from the garage then.

Not sure when I'll ever get this gal back on the road at this pace.

Got back from 2 days of flagging at the Nelson Ledges driver's school....

2 Brits there this weekend....A TR-6 & a Spit.
They both had all-nighters Saturday....

The 6 had its points close up & a fuel pick-up problem.
And the Spit. guy tore off his collector after a scenic drive at 12. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

But, they both got signed off.......
Welcome 2 more LBC racers! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Saturday I was out all day in the Miata with the Miata Club.

Sunday I was in Williamsburg, Virginia at the British Car show. Photo here:

I very much enjoyed living in Virginia. Williamsburg was always a good experience. Lots of autocrossing in the Tidewater area, too. *sigh*

After two horrible weeks in NY...I'm back and washing all my cars up a bit. Did the CGT yesterday and the XJ6 I just bought..today the B gets scrubbed and waxed, told my wife she has to do her bug vert herself...she thought that was funny. I have five cars...all VWs..to prep and paint, and since the bodywork is complete on all of them I plan on doing one every couple of days. saving a 66 hippy van till last. It and a 71 super beetle vert are both going to the same person...a GI that has orders to move to South Carolina.
