OK who is gonna bite on this one?

I would love to restore one of those.

I have only seen one in person as well, many years ago, never seen a nicely restored one, that is pretty sharp, thanks for posting the link Rick

An Italia is on my list of "when I win the lottery" cars...

Would be a fun project, but the price seems high. The ad says "restoration started", but then admits it has been chopped up to install modern steering. What other irreversible "improvements" have been made ?

We were fortunate to have two of them on display at the Canadian International Auto Show this year. Beautiful cars.

I was fortunate to have my car there as well.

A good body man could wind up having a great car! Seems like a bit ahead of its time for '61. The pics in the link are fascinating. They took that thing apart stitch by stitch.

Had an opportunity to buy one local years ago. Nice cars but don't appeal to me, sorta like the Stag. Don't see one worth that much money unrestored. You can buy an unrestored XKE coupe for that price.

I've seen a couple in the flesh. They are beautiful cars. I believe when you bought one new, you had to sign a form stating you were aware there were no replacement body panels.

Yes sir.. there was a fresh 100k restored red one at the ABFM in Bellevue Washington this past year.. it was in the TR3 class..of coarse it took first place at the show..a little unfair..this car should have a class of its own cause they are so sexy and unbeatable. Merry Christmas everyone!!

I parked next to one at the VTR national parking lot at Jekyll Island, just so I could peak at it! Beautiful car, what impresses me is the derivation from the TR3 - from a hairy knuckled brit car to a refined Italian tourer. Absolutely beautiful.
