Oil/Water Gauge

I recently bought a Moss replacement oil/water gauge for my BJ7 restoration, but it came with a black dial face. Has anyone replaced the black dial with a "white" one from an original gauge? If this can be done I need a doner guage if anyone has one laying around that they would be willing to part with.

JP,

Yes, its definately possible, I swapped a good face into a working guage with a corroded face some time ago. Finding a donor would be difficult I would think, but check with the guys who rebuild the guages, they may have a donor or ebay, or check with your local club, someone may have one stashed away. Make sure though, that the increments are the same distance apart, and recalibrate after changing.

Thanks for the respones guys. Now I have some options to look into. I have all the original guages except for the oil/water guage. I'm planning on having the tach, speedo, and fuel guages rebuilt and have considered Nosinger (sp?) the most likely place to send them. Any comments?
