My last Healey was owned 58 years ago and oils ain't what they use to be. I see lots of 20-50 posted and was wondering if that is today's go to? 58 100-6 BN6.
I use Driven dino 20-50 in my old Porsche and it is good stuff and the oil changes are 3k there too. I live outside of Phx and never worry about 'too cold'.
I hate to start an oil thread because that is like talking politics or religion lol... but if that is the case then let me know.

I'm tending to use Shell Rotella 20 W 50, as it seems to have the required ZDDP. of course, oil is like politics and other holy wars...

Thanks, I found other links to the 20/50 and will go that route. Have been out of the Healey biz for decades and that surprised me a bit.

I think you would be hard pressed to do better than Driven GP-1 20/50 - good ZDDP additive package. Keeps it simple by using the same oil for both of your toys.

I’m unfamiliar with Driven. Can anyone elaborate on why you like it over other brands.

I went around with straight 40s, straight 50s, and then 20-50s. I have found the Valvoline VR 20-50 to be the best for ease of starting, oil pressure when hot, and reduced leaking at the usual spots. The main competition I tried it against was Castrol and Mobil 1, with one other brand thrown in…I’m thinking it was Pennzoil but can’t recall.
Anyway, I’d like to hear more about Driven.

I used Valv VR and thought it good stuff...the Driven 20/50 or 15/50 in my old 911 always shows the least amount of fine metal on the drain magnets (the very fine hardly there stuff)...both (VR and Driven) left the filter(s) without anything shown. I doubt you'd go wrong with either. They also make a GL 4 I'll be using in the tranny/OD.
