Dave, As usual, you are a wealth of information... Soooo,
per your statement:

A lot of people are having very good results with Redline MTL which is rated 75W-80 & Redline MT-90 which is rated 75W-90.

This is what you are recommending?? If so, My little 1500 MGA tranny will also be happy with that?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Thanks,
Ron

ALSO.... The BN4 is an overdrive sideshift...if that makes a difference..

Ron

Ron,
There are so many different opinions on this that I hate to make a recommendation. Personally, I find that RL MT90 works very well, especially with OD.

Dave, Thanks for the (non /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif) recommendation...
I shall follow your lead... And the MGA??
Thanks,

John,

I have queried Redline.... will advise

John, I queried Redline. They are recommending, as you expected and as Dave had sort-of /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif recommended, MT-90 for both the Healey and for my 57 MGA 1500 trannys

Thanks for the help.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

John, I have wandered around North County San Diego looking for MT90... NAPA, AutoZone, Pep Boys, and Kragen's do not carry it.... I see that you are north of me...
Where do you get yours???

I guess I should be more general in my query. Does anyone know where in SoCal MT90 is available off the shelf???

John--

Not withstanding what Redline's product locator says I was unable to find their gearlubes (as opposed to their engine oil) in any of the chains in my area and wound up getting it out of a Baltimore mail order speed shop.

Yeah Michael, I had the same experience and ended up ordering it on line---Keoke
