MGB Oil to Head - MGB

Still working on restoring the B, but I have a question regarding the amount of oil that should be reaching the valve train. I pulled the valve cover to re-torque the head, and noticed that there's not a lot of oil there. I put the cover back on and started it up to watch through the filler cap, and saw just a bit of oil "weeping" along the valve train. Even when I run the idle up, there's not much oil coming through. It's not dry in there, but seems like there should be more oil flow.

Also, the oil pressure remains over 50 lbs., even after warmed up and at slow idle.

Any opinions?

Mickey, thats as good as it gets.Last thing in the world you want to see is oil gushing from the rockers.--FWIW---Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

Thanks, Keoke. You confirmed my thinking, but I have seen other heads that had more oil present. I've run it off and on for a while, and it still sounds good. Just didn't want to leave any stone unturned.

Mickey. I though the same thing as you. If you have a look back in this fourm, I but the same question foward. My B still has little oil flow around the rockers but have had no problems so it seems to be normal for them. Regards John

Thanks, John. Helps to have the positive reinforcement!
