Well, I have been cleaning and organizing my garage for the past week since Woodstock is in the shop getting his new paint job. I'll admit it...I'm a neat freak. There, I've said it.

So I bought some interlocking mats to put under him when he gets back since he has a bit of an oil dribble issue. Not much anymore, mind you, but still a nuisance.

SO...I looked online to see how to clean up oil spills on the garage floor...and it's WD-40 ! I just got out of the bed and tried it and it really is great. It pretty much breaks up the oil immediately and you can clean it up with a paper towel.

Another mystery solved and a clean garage for Woodstock when he returns!

So here's another thought on the subject. What do you put underneath your car(s) to catch all of those annoying drips and leaks? I had kitty litter under there and changed it every now and then but wonder if there's something better to use.

Well, under my Midget I've put an oil spill.
That way any additional oil is vertually undetectable.

I'll get my coat...
 
WOW!!! Another use for WD-40. That stuff is like liquid duct tape. Thanks, TNMGB, I'm off to the garage.

I went to the local "farmer's store" where they sell feed, tractor parts, etc. I got a big drop pan, like a cookie sheet, and put it under the B for oil spills. Got it in the pet section. Works great!!!

TNMGB, I use flatened card board boxes no cleanup just throw away.---Fwiw---Keoke
 
I use a drip pan under both of our antiques. You can even fill them with a layer of kitty litter if you want, or put cardboard in them. Basically anything that'll soak up the oil.
 
Ahh...bought a couple of oven liner pans for a couple of bucks so now I'm all set to go. I put a little kitty litter on the floor to soak up the WD-40, then I'll be able to eat off the floor there in the garage!

I use the cheap tin oil pans from Pep Boys and other fine auto parts retailers. Every now and then I just wipe the oil off them with a couple rags.
 
I'm surprised that no one has suggested fixing the oil leaks so that you have no more drips

My GT has no leaks whatsoever. Not a drop. I park it on a white driveway every day so I'm quite sure of this. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Seriously though, did you get the car like that or did you have to make it not leak? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif If you had to do it what did you do, encase the entire engine in silicon gasket resin? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
 
LOL! I was a little worried the first time I pulled out and there was no oil on the ground. I seem to remember keeping a close watch on the oil pressure gauge.

Fortunately for me I got the car that way. If I ever have to tear the engine apart (I hope not) then I'll figure out the secret I suppose. I do know that it is entirely possible to have no leaks because I've spoken with a couple mechanics who claim that if a B-Series engine leaks oil then you need to find a new builder. Of course they wouldn't tell me how to keep it from leaking, and they were right to do so from a business standpoint!

In the beginning, I used to refer to Woodstock's little piece of cardboard under his engine as his "wee wee pad". Now that he's housebroken and the rings have reseated themselves somewhat, he just drips ever so slightly when he sneezes, and he seems to have allergies frequently here in TN...it really is minimal, but still annoying. I am so envious of you guys who have NOTHING on the garage floor when you drive off! Why, I would be stunned !!!!

You also see that in bumper stickers for the guys that work on old Warbirds with radial engines...Next to the sign that says "Fill the oil and check the gas"
