It's better to ask than to do it wrong and break something
The answer to which oil for the engine kind of depends on where you live. In warm climates, 20W50 is recommended. In colder climates, I would recommend 10W30. If you're putting it away for the winter, an oil change first is a very good idea.
For the transmission, the manual calls for 30-weight non-detergent. Using non-detergent oil is especially true if the transmission has never been rebuilt (or it was rebuilt a long time ago). If you now put detergent oil in it, the "crud" that coats the inside of the case will come loose and plug the overdrive screen.

Finding it difficult to find 30-weight non-detergent oil. I have tried Kragen Auto Parts and Pep-Boys without success. Any suggestions to where I can find 30-weight non-detergent oil in the San Francisco area. Thanks.
