Oil pressure

Was out for a little run today - about 50 miles or so. Was caning the car too. Figured I'd shake the cobwebs out of it...

When the engine is cold I have 85psi oil pressure at idle. At the end of the run I was down to 25.

I suspect that it's fine, but was wondering what others had observed.

I'm relying on the dash gauge. Cold start up about the same; after a good run, idle pressure about he same, maybe 30-35.
I've got to add that at start-up the needle used to peg and stayed that way until warm up.
I thought that may be just a little too high, too long, so I added a washer to the relief valve housing and that brought it down to the 80's.

Sounds fine to me Alan.

Went down to a friend's house to drop off my old airbox.
He wants to go back and try stock because he thinks the K&Ns are causing him to run lean.

Tad over 25 miles each way, all in Westchester. Temps were low 40's - jacket, hat and gloves were required, but then it was quite comfortable. <DocE - you shivering yet?>

Car is running great. No let me rephrase - car runs like a scalded cat. Only problem is that my fuel gauge is sticking at 3/8. Good job I went to fill up regardless...

Ya can ignore th' gauge if ya know ya filled the tank.

Yeah, Alan, that gives me th' shivers. I'm in Miami ATM, the water is fallin' outta th' sky and a ~cold front~ is due thru here soon. Droppin' alla way into the high 70's by Sunday eve. We'll be truckin' back to th' hovel before it hits.
