Oil Pressure Sender ?

Hello - I'm over from the Triumph section and have a Jaguar parts question.

I'm fitting an electric oil pressure gauge from a Series III XJ6 to my TR7

https://www.waringstowntr7s.co.uk/images/oilgauge5.jpg

and need an electric pressure sender unit.

It looks like C46272 https://www.jagbits.com/images/C46272.jpg is the right thing.

Is it ? If so are there alternates to suggest or a recommended source?

Last - the gauge has on the back a male connector marked "B" and a female connector marked "T." Can you give me a quick guide to what electrical connections those are for ? Ignition +12V and the sender, but which is which?

Michael,
Two things, the sender you are looking at is a basic sender so if the threads work with your Triumph than I would assume the sender should work with a Smith's gauge. If you buy it from Jagbits you will pay too much. They are around $40 from Jagbits and $25 from www.northeastbritishparts.com or $31 from XKs in California. Same sender. (No affiliation) I generally find Jagbits to be WAY higher in price than most suppliers. You can even find them on Ebay at times for $20.

The second thought regarding the terminals is to install the sender, bring the engine up to temperature and wire it up. You have a 50/50 shot at the wires being correct and if you get it wrong, the gauge simply will not read pressure. The polarity will not matter. I have exactly the same gauges on my positive ground Jags as I do on my negative earth Jags.
