Oil Pressure Question

I'm looking at an original bugeye that is having oil pressure issues. The owner says it just won't get any oil pressure, and the car has been sitting for 20 years or so. Is that just a failed pump, or can there be an issue with the pump not priming itself?

Not priming itself. Hopefully he hasn't damaged the engine trying to get it primed. To prime it remove the banjo bolt on the line to the oil filter and use a pump oil can to fill it with oil. Helps if the car is tilted towards the left side. A little time and several fillings with the pump oil can and it should get prime again. Replace the B bolt and crank it over with the plugs out till you get pressure.

I did the same, primed and I had oil pressure within 20-30 seconds of cranking.
