TR2/3/3A Oil Pressure Gauge Line Fitting

I am building an engine run stand and am trying to hook up an oil pressure gauge to the top of the flex line that comes from the oil filter housing. I have a fitting that threads on nicely, but will not seal properly even with a small o ring placed inside the female. Is the rigid line on the car side a flared line with a captive nut?
Regards,
Steve Baker

Even though the threads appear OK, I believe the design on the contact end is different.
I've never tried to attach a gauge to the flex line. If you have a correct rigid line handy compare the
male ends on both. Better yet, attach the rigid line the way it would go on an assembled car.
The O-ring or a #6 nylon washer is necessary on the gauge side to prevent leakage.

Thank you 6TTR3A fro you response. To answer my own silly question for the possible benefit of others, the solid line going to the gauge looks to be a 3/16th copper and it has a double flare with a captive nut that attaches to the flex line come off the oil filter unit. I finally found a combination of odd fittings in my collection that would not leak.

I found an extra one I have and took a picture. If you do not have that line, I would love to trade it for some of those clips that hold the rear fuel line from the gas tank to the body tub. I tried to trade one of kids for those clips but could not find any takers, but tr3 parts are special. However, I think you can purchase the line from the Big 3—maybe.

Let me see if I can figure out what clip you are talking about. I have a parts hulk that may have them. I'd be glad to see if we can work something out!

Well that would be fantastic. The clips are at the rear of the tub and fasten the back section of the fuel line to the tub.

There’s one on the front wing too, which directs the radiator overflow tube...

sp53, I'm so sorry, I looked at the fuel line back there on my hulk and there's nothing there.

No worries I would have felt guilty if you did not have enough for yourself too. Those clips are very difficult to find. I have never seen any for sale anywhere. Plus there are a lot of substitutes that can be used. A tr4 has something that can be made to work and can be purchased at Moss.
